History and Information about FHRQG

The Flint Hills Regional Quilt Guild was organized in July of 2001.

The purpose of the Guild is to preserve and encourage the art of quilting, to provide instructions for its members, education to the public, and to serve as an outreach organization through quilt related projects.

Members participate in a number of charitable activities, making quilts for Quilts of Valor and DCF foster children as well as lap robes, cover-ups and walker bags for rest homes.

Guild members enter quilts and help with the display of quilts for the Lyon County Fair.

Guild neetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at the Presbyterian West Campus, 1702 W 15th, Emporia, KS.  Doors open at 9:00 for a social hour and coffee.  The business session begins at 11:00 followed by a shared lunch and program.

Dues are $15.00 per year which includes a monthly newsletter.

Programs consist of guest speakers, demonstrations, and workshops, and “Show and Tell” is a popular part of each meeting.
